Dominguez High School marked a major milestone for the Class of 2026 with a vibrant Decision Day ceremony, where 325 scholars proudly announced their postsecondary plans in front of classmates and staff. The event highlighted the determination, resilience, and ambition of students as they prepare to take the next step in their academic and professional journeys.

Throughout the celebration, scholars took the stage to declare their commitments, representing a wide range of pathways including four-year universities, community colleges, and military service. For many, the moment symbolized years of hard work and the realization of goals that once felt out of reach.

Dominguez scholars also earned admission to several campuses within the selective University of California system, including University of California, Irvine, University of California, Los Angeles, University of California, Riverside, University of California, Davis, University of California, Santa Barbara, University of California, San Diego, and University of California, Berkeley. Their acceptance into these institutions reflects both academic excellence and a strong commitment to higher education.

A significant number of scholars will attend campuses within the California State University system, including California State University, Long Beach, California State University, Fullerton, California State University, Dominguez Hills, California State University, Northridge, and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. These institutions continue to serve as strong and accessible options for students pursuing a variety of academic and career interests.

Many students have also chosen to begin their higher education journeys at local colleges, including Cerritos College, Long Beach City College, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Cypress College, and Compton College. These pathways offer students opportunities to continue their education close to home while preparing career advancement.

In addition to in-state options, scholars will attend universities across the country, including Howard University. Others committed to serving the nation through enlistment in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy, demonstrating a shared commitment to leadership and service.

The Decision Day ceremony served as both a celebration and a sendoff, honoring the achievements of Dominguez High School scholars while looking ahead to the impact they will make in their communities and beyond. As they prepare to graduate, these students leave behind a legacy of perseverance and step confidently into a future filled with opportunity.
