Partnership enhances arts education at Compton Unified schools.

Compton Unified School District continues to elevate arts education for its scholars through its dynamic partnership with The Juilliard School—one of the world’s most prestigious performing arts institutions.

 

As part of this collaboration, Juilliard recently led a comprehensive professional development session for performing arts teachers across the District. The training featured model lessons in music, dance, and drama, equipping educators with innovative, standards-aligned strategies designed to deepen student engagement and artistic expression in the classroom.

The experience extended beyond teachers. Scholars had the opportunity to participate in the model lessons, gaining firsthand exposure to Juilliard’s approach to arts instruction. Some even helped demonstrate techniques and activities, creating an interactive and inspiring environment that highlighted the power of high-quality arts education.
