Compton High School Wins 2026 IIDA Calibre Design Award

Compton High School is once again earning recognition—this time for world-class design excellence. The campus, designed by DLR Group, has been named the 2026 IIDA Calibre Award winner for Education in the Built Project category.
Presented at the 38th Annual IIDA Southern California Calibre Design Awards in Los Angeles, this prestigious honor recognizes outstanding achievement in commercial interior design across the region.
Representatives from Compton Unified School District and DLR Group were in attendance to accept the award, marking a proud moment for the entire community.
The award-winning campus is the result of a strong collaboration between Compton Unified School District, Cumming Group, Pulling Paint Murals, and Swinerton. Together, these partners brought to life a bold and forward-thinking vision for the future of education in Compton.
More than just a school, Compton High School was intentionally designed as a transformational learning environment rooted in identity, pride, opportunity, and belonging. Guided by the concept of “Common Ground,” the campus was created to reflect the culture and strength of the community it serves, while inspiring students to see themselves in their environment and their future.
