Compton Success Profiles: Anthony Gonzalez Gomez, Compton Early College
Meet Anthony Gonzalez Gomez, a proud member of the Compton Early College High School Class of 2026. This fall, he will attend the University of California, Riverside, where he plans to major in Computer Science.
Anthony has always been passionate about technology, especially building, programming, and working with computers. At Compton Early College, he immersed himself in campus life as a member of the marching band, volleyball team, and Robotics Club. He also gained valuable real-world experience as an apprentice with the Compton Unified IT Department, helping prepare him for a future in the technology field.

A first-generation college student whose father immigrated from Mexico, Anthony will graduate with two associate degrees from Compton College, including one in Culture and Communications. Among his proudest accomplishments is winning the Compton Unified title at the Los Angeles County Office of Education Math Competition as a sophomore and earning a bronze medal at the Los Angeles County competition.

His advice to incoming scholars is simple: get involved early. Anthony encourages students to join clubs, sports, and activities from the beginning, saying he wishes he had started sooner because of the friendships, experiences, and connections he could have built.

Anthony believes education has given him the confidence to clearly express his ideas, communicate effectively, and become a stronger leader and collaborator.
Anthony Gonzalez Gomez is another Compton Success Story.
