Compton Unified High Schools Celebrate Senior Nights
Compton Unified School District high schools have been filled with pride and celebration in recent weeks as campuses hosted Senior Nights honoring senior scholar athletes. Centennial High School, Compton High School, Compton Early College High School, and Dominguez High School have all recognized seniors across basketball, soccer, and wrestling teams for their dedication and achievements.

Senior Nights are a meaningful tradition across CUSD, providing an opportunity to pause competition and spotlight students who have committed years to their athletic programs. During these events, seniors are introduced alongside their families as their names and accomplishments are announced on the court, field, or mat.

Parents, coaches, school staff, and teammates gathered to celebrate the seniors’ journeys—many of which began years earlier when they first joined their teams. Families were acknowledged for their continued support, while coaches and staff highlighted the discipline, leadership, and perseverance demonstrated by each scholar athlete.

Across the district, basketball teams honored seniors during home games, soccer programs celebrated student-athletes during final home matches of the season, and wrestling teams recognized seniors who competed through demanding seasons of training and competition. Each ceremony reflected the strong sense of community that surrounds CUSD athletics.

Senior Nights also underscored Compton Unified’s commitment to developing well-rounded scholar athletes who balance academics, athletics, and personal responsibility. As these seniors prepare to graduate, they leave behind a lasting legacy and set an example for future generations of student-athletes across the district.
