Kelly Elementary School Named 2026 California School to Watch
School Recognized for Academic Excellence, Strong Student Supports, and Innovative Instructional Practices
Compton Unified School District is proud to announce that Kelly Elementary School has been recognized as a 2026 California School to Watch by the California League of Middle Schools (CLMS). This prestigious designation honors middle-grade schools that demonstrate academic excellence, strong student supports, and innovative, responsive instructional practices.

Kelly Elementary is among an elite group of schools to receive this recognition through the California Schools to Watch Program, which is part of a national network of more than 700 schools across 18 states. Schools earning this distinction undergo a rigorous evaluation process, including a comprehensive application and an on-site validation visit by middle-grades experts.
