CUSD Scholars Rock Bahati Foundation's 8th Annual Bike Fest

More than 50 Compton Unified School District scholars took part in the 8th Annual Bahati Bike Fest, a vibrant community event focused on youth, wellness, and empowerment, held at Dignity Health Sports Park. The event brought together students, families, educators, and community leaders in a shared celebration of healthy living and positive youth engagement.

CUSD Board of Trustees Vice President Michael Hooper joined scholars and school staff at the event, underscoring the District’s commitment to supporting opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom. His presence highlighted the importance of community partnerships that create meaningful, real-world experiences for CUSD scholars.

Throughout the day, scholars learned essential biking skills and safety practices, built confidence on the pump track, and participated in a variety of interactive activity stations. These hands-on experiences encouraged physical activity, teamwork, and self-confidence, while also introducing scholars to lifelong habits that support overall health and wellness.

The event was hosted by the Bahati Foundation and its founder, Rahsaan Bahati, a Compton native and 10-time USA National Cycling Champion. Through his continued partnership with Compton Unified, Bahati is giving back to his hometown by investing in local youth and creating opportunities that inspire, uplift, and strengthen the community. His leadership and commitment helped make the Bike Fest a memorable and impactful experience for CUSD scholars.
