Dominguez Launches Marine Corps JROTC Program with Amazing Scholar Response
Dominguez High School has officially launched its new U.S. Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) program, and the response from students has been nothing short of extraordinary. In its very first year, more than 80 scholars signed up to participate in the class that’s part of a Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway—an impressive show of enthusiasm that reflects a growing interest in leadership, discipline, and service among Dominguez scholars.
MCJROTC is a Leadership Education program designed to instill leadership skills, character development, and strong citizenship values in America’s youth. Through structured training and hands-on experiences, scholars learn the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and personal accountability—skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Participants in the Dominguez MCJROTC program train in a variety of military-based skills, including marching, formations, drill routines, and parade preparation. Scholars also learn discipline and precision through the proper handling of ceremonial swords and rifles, developing confidence and focus as they master these traditions.

Already, the impact of the program is highly visible across campus. MCJROTC scholars can be seen proudly wearing their uniforms, representing Dominguez High School with professionalism and pride. This year, the program has also taken part in honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps, adding a meaningful historical connection to their training and service.

In addition to their daily presence on campus, MCJROTC scholars are playing a prominent role at school events. The unit regularly presents the colors at the beginning of athletic competitions, bringing a sense of ceremony and school pride to Dominguez sporting events.

Beyond campus, the program is making its mark. Dominguez MCJROTC scholars have competed in several competitions, where their dedication and hard work have paid off—bringing home trophies and earning recognition for their excellence. These early successes are helping put the Dominguez MCJROTC program on the map and showcasing the talent and commitment of its scholars.

With strong student interest, early competitive success, and a growing presence on campus, the Dominguez High School MCJROTC program is off to a powerful start—building leaders, strengthening character, and proudly representing Dominguez High School wherever they go.
