CUSD Scholars Score Medals at Orange County Academic Pentathlon
Clinton, Kelly, and Jefferson all score 1st Place Trophies.
Compton Unified scholars delivered an exceptional performance at the Orange County Academic Pentathlon, as Jefferson Elementary’s 8th Grade Science team, Kelly Elementary’s 8th Grade Math team, and Clinton Elementary’s 8th Grade Fine Arts team each captured 1st place in their respective events.

A total of 83 Compton Unified scholars represented the District at the Super Quiz, held at Savanna High School in Anaheim, competing against hundreds of the top 7th and 8th grade students from across Orange County and Southern California.

Their efforts resulted in an impressive 31 individual awards and 7 team honors, highlighting the depth of academic talent across the District.

Participating schools included Clinton Elementary, Emerson Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Kelly Elementary, McKinley Elementary, and Compton Early College Middle School, each contributing to a strong showing on one of the region’s most competitive academic stages.

Through months of preparation, dedication, and teamwork, CUSD scholars demonstrated not only their mastery of rigorous academic content, but also their commitment to excellence.

Their success at the Academic Pentathlon reflects the strength of Compton Unified’s instructional programs and the continued focus on preparing students for high levels of achievement.
