Carver Celebrates Academic Excellence with Black and White Award Ceremony

Media Release

Carver Elementary School proudly recognized student achievement during its Black and White Award Ceremony, honoring scholars in grades 4–8 for their outstanding performance on the SBAC 2025 state exam. One ceremony celebrated 4th and 5th graders, while a second recognized the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the school.

Both ceremonies highlighted the hard work, focus, and determination students demonstrated throughout the school year, as they reached impressive academic milestones.

Families filled the room to celebrate alongside their children, creating an atmosphere of pride, encouragement, and joy. Scholars were recognized for their commitment to excellence, with many taking the stage to receive awards that reflected their dedication to learning and growth.

The ceremony also served as an opportunity to energize and motivate students ahead of this year’s upcoming SBAC assessments. By celebrating past success, Carver Elementary continues to build a culture of high expectations and achievement—empowering scholars to approach their next academic challenge with confidence and determination.

Events like the Black and White Award Ceremony reflect Compton Unified School District’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success. By uplifting and recognizing achievement, schools like Carver are helping scholars see the results of their hard work and inspiring them to reach even greater heights.
