Dr. Jorge Torres, CUSD's Senior Director of College & Career Readiness

Under Dr. Torres’ leadership in the College and Career Readiness Department, Compton Unified has achieved a 94 percent graduation rate and a 95 percent college acceptance rate, both all-time highs for the District. The award was presented at the NCAN 2025 Conference in New Orleans, a multi-day event that brings together thousands of postsecondary access and success practitioners, leaders, and advocates to share knowledge, network, and celebrate excellence in the field. Named in honor of Dr. David B.
