100 CUSD Scholars Get Entertainment Industry Career Insights at LightBox Expo

Media Release

More than 100 Compton Unified Career Technical Education (CTE) students from Compton High School, Centennial High School, Dominguez High School, and Compton Early College attended the LightBox Expo in Pasadena.

LightBox Expo is an annual event that brings together some of the world’s leading artists working in the entertainment industry — including film, animation, television, and gaming. The event features more than 300 exhibiting artists and over 100 top companies, schools, and studios from around the globe.

Compton Unified scholars from the Video Production, Game Design, and Audio Production Pathways had the opportunity to explore the expo, meet industry professionals, and gain insight into the creative and technical skills required for careers in entertainment. The event encouraged students to network, share their portfolios, and learn strategies for professional growth — including how to present their work effectively and make meaningful industry connections.

Through experiences like LightBox Expo, Compton Unified continues to provide students with real-world exposure, helping them explore career pathways, develop artistic talents, and pursue their passions in the growing creative and entertainment fields.
