JA SoCal and USC Marshall Teach Financial Literacy to Emerson Scholars

Media Release

Emerson Elementary recently welcomed more than 20 students from the USC Marshall School of Business along with Junior Achievement of Southern California staff for a special “JA in a Day” event. This impactful program delivers Junior Achievement’s financial literacy lessons to an entire grade level in just one day, giving scholars real-world tools to help them succeed.

Throughout the day, volunteers led engaging classroom sessions on topics such as budgeting, saving, and smart money habits. Teachers partnered with the volunteers, supporting the activities and ensuring a meaningful learning experience for scholars.

The program also provided USC Marshall students and JA SoCal staff with an opportunity to connect with the community, share their expertise, and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Compton Unified is proud to partner with Junior Achievement and USC to bring powerful, hands-on learning experiences like this to our schools.
