Eleven Compton Unified School District schools have been recognized on the 2025 Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll list of California’s top-performing schools, while CUSD was also recognized as a top district. Anderson Elementary, Clinton Elementary, Compton Early College High School, Davis Middle School, Jefferson Elementary, Kelly Elementary, Laurel Street Elementary, Mayo Elementary, McNair Elementary, Tibby Elementary, and Willowbrook Middle School earned the “Star School” designation for high performance. Clinton, Davis, and Mayo were new this year, while the other eight schools received the recognition in 2024 as well.

Educational Results Partnership (ERP), a non-profit organization that applies data science to accelerate student success, has released its annual “Honor Roll” list of California’s top-performing schools, in partnership with the state’s business leaders. This is the eleventh year that ERP has completed the Honor Roll list, which recognizes top public schools, school districts and charter schools that have outperformed their peers in closing achievement gaps, particularly among historically disadvantaged student populations. The full list of Honor Roll schools is now posted at edresults.org/honor-roll.
The program is part of a national effort to engage business leaders in recognizing successful schools and educational systems and promote best practices that improve student outcomes. Honor Roll schools are recognized for demonstrating consistently higher levels of student achievement comprehensively across all student populations, improvement in academic achievement over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among historically disadvantaged student populations.
Approximately 21% of eligible schools and 22% of eligible districts made the Honor Roll list in 2024. To learn more about the methodology used to determine Honor Roll schools and districts, click here.
In 2023, five CUSD schools were recognized, including Compton Early College High School, Jefferson Elementary, Laurel Street Elementary, Mayo Elementary, and Willowbrook Middle School.
The California Honor Roll is produced by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and presented by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence in collaboration with 27 Chambers of Commerce throughout the state including the California Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation for Commerce and Education, California Black Chamber of Commerce, California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, CalAsian Chamber of Commerce, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, San Joaquin A+, and other business leaders.
