CUSD's Dr. Brawley Named ACSA Region 14 Superintendent of the Year
Compton Unified School District is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Darin Brawley has been named the 2025 ACSA Region 14 Superintendent of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA). This prestigious recognition was presented during the ACSA Region 14 Administrator Awards Dinner, held at the Palos Verdes Golf Club last week.
The event brought together educational leaders from across the region to celebrate excellence in leadership, and Dr. Brawley’s recognition highlighted his transformative impact on student achievement and innovation in Compton Unified. Under his leadership, the district has reached new heights in academic performance, expanded access to STEM and technology, and created a culture that uplifts and empowers every student.
Dr. Brawley was surrounded by a strong show of support from the Compton Unified community. In attendance were members of the ACSA Compton Board, including Ms. Carter (President), Ms. Kirk (Vice President), and Ms. Dawson (Secretary), as well as the CUSD Executive Cabinet, Board Member Satra Zurita, and numerous Compton Unified administrators. Their presence spoke volumes about the collaborative spirit and shared commitment that drives the district forward.
This award is more than just a personal achievement — it is a reflection of the collective excellence of Compton Unified’s leadership and its ongoing mission to provide a world-class education for all students.
