Roosevelt and Tibby Named 2025 California Distinguished Schools

The Compton Unified School District is proud to announce that Roosevelt Elementary and Tibby Elementary have been selected as 2025 California Distinguished Schools by the California Department of Education. This prestigious recognition honors schools that are making a significant impact in closing the achievement gap and demonstrating exceptional student performance.
State Superintendent Tony Thurmond announced that 336 elementary schools across California have received this distinction, which is awarded based on multiple performance measures, including academic achievement, student engagement, and school climate. Schools are selected based on their performance on the California School Dashboard, ensuring they meet rigorous standards of excellence and growth.
Roosevelt and Tibby Elementary Schools have demonstrated a commitment to fostering a high-quality learning environment where all students can thrive. This recognition highlights the dedication of teachers, administrators, and staff in supporting student success and preparing them for future academic and career pathways.
Both schools will be honored at the California Distinguished Schools Ceremony on May 30, 2025, at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.
