Compton Early College, McKinley, and Rosecrans Scholars Excel at History Day LA

Compton Unified School District students showcased their research and creativity at History Day LA, an annual competition hosted by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at San Gabriel High School.

Two CUSD scholars earned top honors:

Sanabria Marcus from McKinley won the Elementary Poster Division

Analy Vazquez from Rosecrans won the Junior Podcast Division

A total of 12 CUSD students participated in the event:

9 from McKinley Elementary

2 from Compton Early College High School

1 from Rosecrans Elementary

History Day LA challenges students in grades 4-12 to explore historical topics related to an annual theme. Participants conduct extensive research in libraries, archives, and museums, then present their findings through exhibits, documentaries, websites, performances, or research papers.
