Foster Elementary Principal McDuffie Honored by City of Compton

Foster Elementary Principal Cecelia McDuffie was recently honored by Compton Mayor Emma Sharif at the Compton City Council meeting in celebration of Women’s History Month.
Several CUSD Board Members including Vice President Satra Zurita, Dr. Ayanna Davis, and Alma Taylor-Pleasant, as well as Foster staff, were there to help celebrate the occasion.
Principal McDuffie has been a dedicated leader in Compton Unified for 18 years and is now in her third year at Foster Elementary. In 2023, she was recognized as Compton Unified’s Principal of the Year, and under her leadership, Foster has achieved three consecutive years of student achievement gains.
