Compton Success Profiles: Hailey Parra, Compton Early College HS
Hailey Parra, a standout graduate of the Compton Early College High School Class of 2025, is heading to the University of California, Riverside this fall to major in Electrical Engineering. In addition to earning her high school diploma, Hailey also graduated with two associate degrees—an impressive accomplishment that reflects her dedication and academic strength.
Hailey was inspired to pursue electrical engineering by her father, who works as an electrician. She also became interested in robotics and programming in school.

A proud product of Compton Unified, Hailey began her education at Kelly Elementary School and joined Compton Early College in eighth grade, continuing through high school. Along the way, she overcame challenges with procrastination and time management, all while balancing a demanding course load, serving as president of the Girls Build program, and playing on the softball team.

Coming from a family of immigrants, Hailey was encouraged by her parents to pursue higher education. She embraced that encouragement and now serves as a powerful example of what is possible through hard work, family support, and community resources. She credits the Gear Up program and her high school counselors for providing vital support, helping her find scholarships and opportunities throughout her journey.

Hailey Parra is a shining example of the potential and promise within Compton Unified School District.
