Compton Success Profiles: Clarke Cornwell, Compton Early College HS
Clarke Cornwell, a proud graduate of the Compton Early College High School Class of 2025, is on her way to the University of California, San Diego, where she will major in Political Science. With aspirations to attend law school and becoming a lawyer, Clarke is setting her sights on a future rooted in justice, advocacy, and leadership.
Clarke credits her parents as her greatest inspiration and support system throughout her academic journey. At Compton Early College, she made the most of every opportunity, taking on a wide range of leadership roles. She served as captain of the volleyball team, vice president of the Black Student Union, commissioner of athletics for ASB, vice president of Note to Self, and was a member of Girls Build.

With so many commitments, Clarke faced challenges managing her time, but she ultimately learned to balance it all—growing stronger in the process.

Among her favorite high school memories are the moments spent on the volleyball court, both as a player and as a manager for the boys’ volleyball team. For Clarke, athletics was a meaningful and rewarding part of her high school experience.

She values her education and sees it as a pathway to a life full of opportunity, happiness, and success. Clarke Cornwell is another amazing Compton Success story!
