Centennial and CEC Scholars Participate in Rome New Year's Day Parade
Centennial and Compton Early College High School scholars participated in the internationally acclaimed Rome New Year's Day Parade. The Centennial High School Sensational Dazzling Dolls Majorette Dance Team and Cheer Team and Compton Early College High School Cheer team members embarked on this once-in-a-lifetime journey to Italy for this amazing experience.

The parade traveled down a 1.5-miler route from the Piazza del Popolo, down Via del Corso, Via Condotti, and Via Babuino, before returning to the Piazza del Popolo.
As part of the trip, the CUSD scholars spent five days in Rome, exploring the iconic landmarks in the city such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracella, Pantheon, San Lorenzo Church, and other famous sites. They also took a day to visit the Vatican and viewed Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.
In addition, the scholars took a day trip to Florence, exploring that city as well. This incredible experience not only highlights their dedication and hard work, but also provided an opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of the Italy and its iconic cities.
By participating in this amazing experience, the Compton Unified scholars received character-building skills, assisting them in their academic lives. They also had the opportunity to expose their talents internationally with the potential of earning higher levels of competition. Congratulations to all for representing their schools, school district, and community at an amazing international event.
