CUSD Robotics Teams Shine at FIRST Tech Challenge Inter-League Tournament
Dominguez Wins League Championship
Compton Unified School District continues to excel in STEM education, with 11 teams and 120 scholars from Centennial, Compton, Compton Early College High School, Davis Middle School, and Dominguez showcasing their engineering prowess at the FIRST Tech Challenge Inter-League Tournament held at Diamond Bar High School. Among the standout achievements, Dominguez High School’s Redsnow team was crowned League B - Compton-Inglewood Champions, earning the prestigious League Championship Trophy.
Highlights from the Tournament
Four CUSD teams made it to the finals: Rising Phoenix (Compton Early College HS), Generation BOT (Davis Middle School), Robonauts (Dominguez HS), and Redsnow (Dominguez HS).
Wildcard Event Qualifiers: Both Robonauts and Rising Phoenix earned spots in the Wildcard event, taking place on February 23 at Notre Dame High School.
Dean’s List Semi-Finalists: Several CUSD scholars interviewed for the Dean’s List, and the following are moving on to the next round: Ariel Ontiveros (Compton HS), Francisco Nieto Garbay (Compton HS), Jair Romano (Dominguez HS) and Kelvin Coronel Felix (Dominguez HS).
