CUSD Schools Fly to Victory at Drones4Kids Competition

85 scholars representing eight Compton Unified schools took part in the Drones4Kids Aerial Drone Competition at Troy High School in Fullerton last Saturday, with a combined Clinton-Whaley team taking first place overall.

In addition, King’s team took home the Skills Mission Championship trophy and earned a 2nd place trophy in Teamwork. Kennedy’s team received the Judges Award.

Compton Unified was well represented with teams from Clinton, Davis, Jefferson, Kelly, Kennedy, King, Roosevelt, and Whaley showcasing their skills.

Drones4Kids mission’s is to cultivate a generation of forward-thinkers who harness the power of technology to create positive change in the world. They shape the future by empowering youth to think critically, creatively, and with purpose. They empower the next generation of innovators through the thrill of drone technology. By learning to pilot drones, students could be part of the future shaping positive changes in the world.
