Foster, Roosevelt, Whaley, and Dominguez Students Received Incredible Gifts and More

Scholars from Foster Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Whaley Middle School, and Dominguez High School gathered at Foster Elementary recently for the 6th Annual Holiday Give Back, a heartwarming event hosted by The Empowerment Foundation and Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees Member Alma Taylor Pleasant.

The event brought together more than 60 scholars and their families for an unforgettable day of community, celebration, and holiday cheer. Attendees enjoyed a delicious hot meal, engaged in delightful snow play, and visited with Santa Claus, who spread joy and listened to holiday wishes. Each child received incredible gifts, ensuring they felt special and celebrated during the holiday season.

The Holiday Give Back was made possible by The Empowerment Foundation, founded by Compton native K. Latrice Gwin. The foundation is deeply committed to creating opportunities for children, regardless of their zip code or economic status, and ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.

The day at Foster Elementary was filled with warmth, happiness, and laughter, as families came together to enjoy the festivities and connect with one another. From the joyful squeals of children playing in the snow to the beaming smiles of scholars unwrapping their gifts, the event embodied the true spirit of the holiday season.

Through events like the Holiday Give Back, Compton Unified School District continues to demonstrate its dedication to supporting students and their families both inside and outside the classroom. The district is proud to partner with organizations like The Empowerment Foundation to create lasting memories and meaningful impact in the lives of its scholars.
