McKinley Teacher Anthony Griffin Honored with 2025 LACOE Literacy Luminary Award
Compton Unified School District is proud to celebrate McKinley Elementary School teacher Mr. Anthony Griffin, who has been named the 2025 Literacy Luminary Award Recipient by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE).

The prestigious Literacy Luminary Awards were presented at LACOE’s 4th Annual Structured Literacy Symposium, an event that brings together educators, experts, and leaders dedicated to advancing high-quality literacy instruction across Los Angeles County. Each year, the awards honor outstanding teachers, coaches, and administrators who demonstrate exemplary leadership and excellence in the implementation of structured literacy practices.

Mr. Griffin’s recognition reflects his deep commitment to elevating literacy outcomes for students. Known for fostering a classroom environment where every scholar feels supported, challenged, and inspired to grow, he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure his students build strong foundational reading skills and develop a lifelong love of learning.
