Dominguez Tops First Tech Challenge (FTC) Meet 2
Dominguez High School earned top honors at FIRST Tech Challenge Group B, Meet #2, with the Robonauts placing first overall. Compton Early College High School also delivered a strong performance, as its team, the Syncing Krakens, secured second place in the competition.

Following those, Centennial’s Delta Tech took fourth place and CEC’s Rising Phoenix earned fifth overall.

The event showcased the talent and innovation of Compton Unified School District scholars, with 55 students participating across 14 teams. In total, 76 participants took part in the meet, engaging in rigorous robotics challenges that emphasized coding, engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Robotics plays a critical role in Compton Unified’s comprehensive STEM pathway, serving as a hands-on application of computer science, engineering, and real-world problem solving. The district has made significant investments in expanding STEM opportunities for scholars, including award-winning programs in computer science, drones, esports, coding, and emerging technologies. These programs are designed to spark curiosity, build technical skills, and prepare students for college, careers, and leadership in a rapidly evolving global economy.

The strong results from Dominguez High School and Compton Early College High School reflect Compton Unified’s continued commitment to expanding high-quality STEM learning opportunities and ensuring scholars are equipped with the skills needed to succeed in the future.
