Compton Early College and Dominguez Earn U.S. News Best High Schools 2025/26 Honor

Compton Unified School District proudly celebrates Compton Early College High School and Dominguez High School for being named among the nation’s Best Public High Schools for 2025-26 by U.S. News & World Report. This distinction places both schools in the top 40% of high schools across the country—an achievement that reflects the dedication of our students, educators, and families.

Each year, U.S. News ranks nearly 18,000 public high schools nationwide. Schools that score in the top 40% are recognized as Best High Schools, based on performance in six areas: college readiness, curriculum breadth, state test performance, underserved student achievement, and graduation rates.

Compton Early College High School earned recognition through its rigorous academics and unique opportunity for students to earn college credits while completing high school. Dominguez High School stood out for its strong graduation rates, academic excellence, and comprehensive programs that prepare scholars for success in college, careers, and beyond.

This honor reflects the perseverance of our students, the commitment of our educators, and the support of our families and community. We are proud to celebrate these schools as shining examples of Compton Unified's commitment to excellence in education.

With a district-wide 94% graduation rate and 95% college acceptance rate, Compton Unified schools continue to be recognized for their excellence and have won numerous awards recently.
