Compton Unified Launches Los Angeles Teacher Preparation Pathway
Compton Unified is proud to announce the launch of an exciting opportunity for our staff: the Los Angeles Teacher Preparation Pathway (LATPP) program.
What is LATPP?
The Los Angeles Teacher Preparation Pathway (LATPP) is a “grow-your-own” initiative that supports current school staff on the journey to becoming fully credentialed teachers—right here in Compton Unified. This innovative program provides the tools, coaching, and resources necessary to help future educators thrive while continuing to serve their communities.
By partnering with districts, LATPP is building a diverse and skilled educator pipeline rooted in local experience. The goal is simple but powerful: empower the very people who know our schools and families best to become the teachers of tomorrow.
What LATPP Offers
Participants in the program receive:
- 💰 Financial aid to make credentialing affordable
- 🎓 Support to finish a Bachelor’s degree, if needed
- 🗺️ Personalized guidance to create a credential road map tailored to their goals
- 👩🏫 One-on-one coaching to enroll into an affordable credential program
