The Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees is composed of seven members, each elected by registered voters within their respective Trustee Areas. To qualify for election, candidates must reside in the area they seek to represent. Trustees are elected on a staggered basis—every two years, either three or four seats are up for election. Once elections are held, the Board selects its officers to serve one-year terms.
