5 CUSD Schools and 90 Scholars Attend SoCal FTC Kickoff

Media Release

Saturday was an exciting day for Compton Unified robotics programs. Five CUSD schools – Davis Middle School, Centennial High School, Compton High School, Compton Early College High School, and Dominguez High School – participated in the Monrovia SoCal FTC Kickoff: INTO THE DEEP presented by RTX, with 90 CUSD scholars joining the action!

During the kickoff, our students witnessed the thrilling reveal of this year’s robotics challenge and engaged in hands-on workshops, from coding and 3D printing, to networking with industry professionals and autonomous navigation.

The students had a great time engaging in team-building activities, and they are eager to start this new FTC season.

Through a progression of team-based robotics challenges, FIRST helps young people discover a passion for STEM. Compton Unified has been involved with FIRST for many years, elevating scholar’s STEM education in many exciting ways.
