115 CUSD Scholars Kick Off Robotics Season

Media Release

Eleven CUSD teams and 115 scholars kicked off the CUSD FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics season recently, showing off their hard work and creativity at Meet-0!

This event was the first opportunity for teams from Centennial, Compton High School, Compton Early College High School, Davis Middle School, and Dominguez to put their robots to the test in a competitive environment, assessing, learning, and gearing up for an exciting season ahead.

FIRST Tech Challenge students work together with their mentors to design and build robots to compete in dynamic and exciting challenges.

Teams program classroom-scale robots to follow autonomous commands before student drivers take control in two-on-two matches.

On and off the field, students develop STEM skills, engage in community outreach, practice engineering innovation, and build confidence to help them succeed.
