Mayo, McNair, Roosevelt, and Washington Show Halloween Spirit

Media Release

Halloween was in full swing across Compton Unified School District, with schools like Mayo, McNair, Roosevelt, and Washington Elementary, among many others, hosting exciting Halloween parades. These events were filled with students dressed in their most creative and fun costumes—from spooky ghosts and friendly witches to superheroes and fairytale characters.

As students paraded through the school grounds, their enthusiasm brought the holiday spirit to life, filling each campus with laughter, smiles, and unforgettable memories.

These Halloween parades highlight the importance of blending fun events with a child’s educational journey. Special celebrations like these foster a sense of community, giving students a chance to connect with each other, teachers, and families in a joyful atmosphere.

They create moments for students to express themselves in new and creative ways, showing off costumes they’ve worked hard on and taking pride in their individuality. Events like these are a valuable part of school life, offering students a well-rounded experience that goes beyond traditional academics.

At Compton Unified, we recognize that positive school experiences build lasting memories and encourage student engagement. These Halloween parades, along with other events, are part of our commitment to creating an environment where students feel excited to learn and grow. From festive parades to interactive STEAM programs, our schools strive to inspire every student with opportunities that make learning enjoyable and meaningful.

As we celebrate Halloween across the district, Compton Unified wishes all our students, families, and staff a safe and spooky holiday filled with treats, joy, and creativity. Whether at Mayo, McNair, Roosevelt, Washington, or any of our other schools, this Halloween is one to remember for the entire Compton Unified family!
