McKinley Hosts Inaugural Art H.E.A.Ls Community Fest

McKinley K-8 Integrated Arts School hosted its inaugural Art H.E.A.L.s Community Festival with LACOE Community Schools. More than 100 families came out to experience how McKinley integrates the arts into its education to showcase how its students soar academically, socially, emotionally, and artistically.

The scholars, staff, families, and partners enjoyed the afternoon and showed their love of art, music, dance, and S.T.E.A.M. with a series of performances, as well as art-related activities.

Attendees participated in various arts and crafts activities, enjoyed musical performances including bands, an orchestra, spoken word poetry, and ballet routines. In addition, there was a drum circle, yoga sessions, and much more.

Some of the partners involved included Education Through Music - Los Angeles, The Broad, The Music Center: Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles, Turnaround Arts: California, 9 Dots, Margaret's Place, California Arts Council (Arts & Healing Initiative), County Of Los Angeles DMH, Think Together, Inside Out Project, and more.
