Dickison, Emerson, and Kennedy 5th Grade Dual Immersion Scholars Tour UCLA
Recently, 95 5th grade Dual Immersion scholars from Dickinson, Emerson, and Kennedy Elementary Schools toured the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
As part of the tour, the students learned about UCLA’s history, academic areas of study, and the academic supports for students of various backgrounds, such as first-generation college students.
Of interest to the Dual Immersion scholars, UCLA's Spanish Department offers more than 140 courses for students ranging from An Introduction to Syntax to Spanish-American Literature.
In addition, scholars visited the infamous Royce Hall where a number of graduation ceremonies take place. According to U.S. News & World Report, 2024, UCLA tied for the #1 ranking for Top Public Schools.
By the end of the visit, many scholars expressed interest in becoming future UCLA Bruins - and graduates!
