CUSD Hosts Valor Esports Coaching Development Program

This week, CUSD held a Valor Esports Esports Coaching Professional Development Program to elevate the Esports coaching standards in the District and explain to the staff how to be better Esports coaches.
The professional development program was held at Whaley Middle School and attended by more than 20 staff members. The program included several coaching workshops and wrapped up with an Esports tournament to practice those coaching techniques learned in the morning.
Compton Unified’s Esports program is award winning. The Compton Unified Esports League (CUEL) Initiative was recognized with a 2023 Golden Bell Award by California School Boards Association (CSBA).
The vision of CUEL is to provide Compton Unified scholars equitable access to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) education and reinforce skills such as collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
