CUSD Hosts First Workforce Wednesday Partner Gathering
Compton Unified held its first Workforce Wednesday, hosting approximately 30 current and future partners to a breakfast presentation about the various ways to get involved with the school district.

Michelle Edgar, Senior Director of Business Partnerships and Schools, welcomed the crowd and discussed the launch of the series as a way to connect companies and organizations to the district, schools, and students.

Rose Gonzalez, Senior Director CTE/ROP/School and Business Partnerships, discussed the various Compton Unified Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways and highlighted opportunities for involvement with enriching student’s education.

In addition, Michele Dawson, Senior Director, Instructional Tech and Innovation, invited everyone to attend the upcoming Ariel Drone Competition taking place at Dominguez High School on Saturday, March 16 to see the incredible innovation and education programs taking place in the district. She also encouraged attendees to get involved with the upcoming STEAMfest taking place June 1.

During the presentation, Edgar also recognized several partners for their service to the school district, including Tonya L. Hylton, Western Regional Program Director - Save The Music Foundation; Maejor, the award-winning artist and producer; and Joe Michael, Chief Creative Officer, ConCreates.
