100% College Acceptance: Compton Early College HS Decision Day 2024

Compton Early College (CEC) High School’s Class of 2024 boasted a 100-percent college acceptance rate! In fact, many scholars were accepted by more than one college or university, providing several options for their future. In the end, CEC’s senior class had to choose where they were going to pursue their higher education.  

To celebrate these decisions, Compton Early College recently held its 2024 Decision Day where its 126 graduating seniors declared their college and university destinations.

The list includes a variety of colleges and universities across California, such as USC, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, CSU Northridge, CSU San Francisco, CSU Bakersfield, CSU Chico, CSU Dominquez Hills, CSU East Bay, CSU Fullerton, CSU Humboldt, CSU Long Beach, CSU Los Angeles, CSU Monterey Bay, CSU Pomona, San Diego State University, CSU San Francisco, CSU San Jose, CSU San Luis Obispo, Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine University, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz.

One senior is even traveling to Alabama to attend Tuskegee University.

The graduating class secured more than $1-million in grants and scholarships combined to help fund their upcoming higher education.

The CEC Class of 2024 set some remarkable accolades. Just over 70 percent of the students graduated with an AA from Compton College and IGETC Completion. More than 50 percent (65 scholars) double majored - receiving 2 AA degrees from Compton College, while 41 scholars received Compton College Honors. In addition, 41 percent graduated from Compton Early College High School with a GPA of 4.0 or higher!
