Media Release

Her biggest influence was her mother, who pushed Tyjahnae to go to college. Her mother didn’t grow up with much and wanted the best for her and her siblings.

Tyjahnae says her biggest challenge in school was being a perfectionist. She got straight A’s in Enterprise Middle School, but quickly found out that it was harder to maintain that level at Compton High School.

She says she values her education because she believes you can learn so much in school, not just from the classes you take, but also from the other people who you meet.

Tyjahnae Hodge is another Compton Success Story.
