Compton Success Profiles: Triana Perez-Ayon, Compton Early College HS

Meet Triana Perez-Ayon, Compton Early College High School Class of 2024 Valedictorian. She will be attending the University of California, Los Angeles in the fall, majoring in Physiological Science. She wants to become a neurosurgeon.

In addition to graduating from Compton Early College HS, she received two Associate’s degrees from Compton College – in Arts and Humanities and in Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Triana was active in high school, having played soccer for three years. She also was in the ASB and was elected as vice president of the junior class board her junior year. As a senior, she was one of the commissioners of activities.

One the biggest challenges she overcame during high school was balancing extracurricular activities with her high school and college classes. She thanks her school administrators and counselors for helping get her through the process.

Triana says that attending Compton Early College High School helped her understand what she really wants to achieve in life and also how far she wants to go. She says people should value their education because of how far it can take them. Her parents were from Mexico and didn’t get past middle school, and she says their story is what pushes her to be her best.
