Compton Success Profiles: Jason Tillman, Dominguez High School

Media Release

Meet Jason Tillman, Dominguez High School Class of 2024 graduate. He will be attending California State University, Long Beach in the fall. He’s enrolled in the College of Business, to develop his entrepreneurial skills. He hopes to start his own business in the future.

While in school, Jason’s mother moved to Texas and his father wasn’t around, so he was forced to raise himself. Luckily, he was able to live with a cousin, but had to get a job to support himself. He enrolled himself into Dominguez his sophomore year, thanks to the encouragement of a fellow basketball player and the coach.

Coach Jonathan Davis helped motivate and guide Jason through high school. He learned a lot of life lessons playing basketball for the coach. In addition, one of the Dominguez social workers also influenced him, serving as a life coach.

Jason also thanks CUSD Board Member and Dominguez graduate Denzell Perry, who gave him guidance and mentorship over the years.

Jason Tillman is another Compton Success Story.
