Compton Success Profiles: Dallin Tonumaipea, Compton High School
Meet Dallin Tonumaipea, Compton High School Class of 2024 graduate. He will be attending BYU Idaho, majoring in Mathematics. He wants to either be a math teacher, engineer, or architect when he graduates college.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he’ll be going on his mission for the next two years, deferring his college acceptance until after his service is complete.
His mother and father have been his biggest influences on him. “They always encourage me to push past my limits and to be better,” he says.
Dallin says he really understood that the Compton Unified School District cares about the students and has very good programs in the schools.
When he got to high school, he joined the football team. As part of the team, he enjoyed the mental discipline, and being committed to something bigger than himself.
He values his education and the opportunities it provides for you to grow in life. The more educated you are, he believes, the more successful you’ll be.
