18 Schools, 50 Teams, 350 Scholars Compete in CUSD First Robotics Festival

50 Compton Unified teams competed at the third annual CUSD First Robotics Festival at Dominguez High School recently. More than 350 scholars from 18 schools participated in FTC, FLL Discover, Explore, and Challenge teams, showcasing their coding, core values, innovation projects, and robotics skills with their robot matches.

The third Annual FIRST Robotics Festival saw 1st - 12th grade students participating on the teams, showcasing their robotic creations and performing their coding and driving skills. The packed Dominguez High School gym was a flurry of activity throughout the day, as scholars displayed Spike Essential, Spike Prime, and High School caliber robots, showcasing their work, along with programming skills to solve different challenges.

Compton scholars highlighted their innovative ideas in this year's FLL and FTC seasons, MASTERPIECE℠ and CENTERSTAGE℠ divisions.

The event was supported by sponsors including The LEGO Foundation, Boeing, i.am.Angel Foundation, and FIRST AmeriCorps.
