CUSD Taking AmeriCorps Member Applications for FIRST Robotics Program

Compton Unified is currently taking applications for AmeriCorps members to serve in our schools for the 2023/24 school year. These FIRST AmeriCorps members will help Compton students in the FIRST Robotics Program.
FIRST AmeriCorps members could be part-time educators, FIRST alumni, or graduate students in STEM or education fields. The members receive a bi-weekly stipend, an AmeriCorps education award, professional development, possible loan deferment and interest forbearance for qualified individuals, and access to the FIRST network. The 2023-2024 FIRST AmeriCorps term begins in August 2023 and will conclude in June 2024.
The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
