Compton Success Profiles: Brownig Vasquez

Meet Dominguez High School Class of 2023 graduate Brownig Vasquez. She will be joining the Marine Corps in the fall to be an aircraft mechanic. Her ultimate goal is to attend MIT and be an aerospace engineer.
When she started high school, Brownig couldn’t speak English and couldn’t understand her teachers. But she stayed focused, learned the language quickly, and began to thrive in her studies. Throughout school, she spent time in Robotics classes and really enjoyed the Robotics competitions.
One of the great things about Compton schools, Brownig said, was that if you let someone help you, they will always help you. She treasures her schooling because she believes knowledge is power and her education will always be valuable.
