Davis Robotics Team Wins Regionals, Dickison and CEC Take Awards

Davis Middle School’s FIRST LEGO League Robotics Team won first place in the Robot Performance category in the Southern California Regional Tournament Masterpiece. Congratulations to the team members. Davis was one of four Compton Unified teams competing in the FIRST Robotics Regional Tournament on Saturday.

In addition, Compton Early College received the Motivate Award and the Dickison Elementary Team won the Innovation Project Finalist award. Tibby Elementary also had a team the qualified for the regional competition.

CEC Award

In FIRST LEGO League, students are immersed in real-world, hands-on STEM challenges. Teams design their own solution or problem to real world engineering challenges while building autonomous LEGO robots that perform a series of missions. Through their participation, students develop valuable life skills, build confidence, grow their knowledge, and develop habits of learning.

Dickison wins

In the MASTERPIECE challenge, FIRST LEGO League teams will imagine and innovate new ways to create and communicate art across the globe.
