CUSD Marches in Compton Christmas Parade

Tis the season for holiday parties, holiday cheer, and, of course, holiday parades.

Compton Unified School District was well represented at the 68th Annual Compton Christmas Parade 2023, with high school marching bands, dance teams, and flag groups, as well as the members of the Board of Trustees, enjoying the wonderful day in Compton and supporting the local community.

With a strong presence in the parade themed Around the World Holiday Celebration, all seven CUSD Board of Trustees members participated, rolling through downtown Compton in classic convertible cars.

CUSD Board President Denzell Perry, Vice President Dr. Ayanna Davis, Clerk Micah Ali, and Legislative Representative Alma Taylor-Pleasant, as well as Board Members Charles Davis, Sandra Moss, and Satra Zurita greeted the enthusiastic crowds lining the roads.

In addition, the award-winning marching bands from Centennial High School, Compton Early College High School, Compton High School, and Dominguez High School worked their way through the several-mile route, playing songs, changing formations, and putting on wonderful performances for the cheering spectators.
