Compton Success Profiles: Bradley Medrano

Media Release

Meet Bradly Medrano, Compton Early College High School Class of 2023 graduate. He will be attending University of California, San Diego in the fall, majoring in Education Studies.

“I chose Education Studies because it’s a passion of mine,” he explained. “I believe every student can thrive in the right conditions. A teacher is a big part of that. I want to be a part of these students’ lives and help them reach their full potential.”

Bradly came to Compton schools five years ago, starting in Willowbrook Middle School, then transitioned to Compton Early College High School.

One of the biggest challenges he faced during his school years was financial issues. “Growing up in a low-income community, it’s hard to afford things like uniforms, food, and WIFI – things that are necessary for education,” he said. To overcome this, Bradly got a part-time job to help out his financial situation.

One of the best things about his school, Bradly noted, was he felt supported. “Compton Schools are about community,” he said. “The students form strong bonds and understand each other.”

He appreciated all the instruction he got at school. “I value my education because I know it’s a big step in my life,” he said. “Knowledge is power and with knowledge we can achieve great things. It can get you far in life.”

Bradly Medrano is another Compton Success Story.
