A. In a dual immersion program, students spend a significant portion of their instructional time learning subjects in both languages (English & Spanish). The goal is to develop proficiency in both languages.

The 90:10 Dual Immersion model refers to a specific approach in dual immersion education, where students receive 80-90% of their instruction in the target language (Spanish) during the early grades, typically kindergarten and first grade. Over time, the proportion of instruction gradually shifts to a 50:50 balance between the two languages.

A. Research suggests that upper grade dual immersion students perform on par with or above their peers in traditional educational programs.
