Acceptable documentation includes two of the following:

• Current utility bill - electricity, gas, or water  

• Property tax payment receipts 

• A letter from the state or county 

• Paystubs

• Most recent paid rent receipt with lease agreement 

• Military information: Active military ID

• Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis

• TB Risk Assessment - 1st Grade & Newcomers

For first-time enrollees in Compton USD, age verification is necessary. Acceptable methods include:

• Original Birth Certificate
• Baptism certificate with official seal
• Foster placement letter to show guardianship
• Guardianship / Court documents

• Unofficial Transcripts (High School Only)

  • Parents/guardians must upload the latest unofficial transcript to the registration portal or bring it to the school to complete online enrollment. The official transcript determines course completion and enrollment eligibility.

• Unofficial Transcripts (Middle School Only)

  • Parents/guardians must upload the latest unofficial school transcript to the registration portal or bring it to the school for online enrollment. The transcript guides course enrollment based on completed courses.

Current IEP or 504

• Parents/guardians must upload the most recent IEP or 504 to the registration portal or provide it to the school during online enrollment.

Parent Rights and Custody Orders

• Under California law, both natural parents typically have equal decision-making rights regarding their children's education, unless modified by a court order. If a custody order alters parental rights, please upload the most recent copy to the registration portal or provide it to school staff.

Homeless and Foster Youth

• Homeless or foster youth are immediately entitled to enrollment if space is available at the school site (residence or origin). Otherwise, immediate enrollment in the district will be arranged with information provided about an available school site. If experiencing homelessness, request a Student Housing Questionnaire from the school.
