Jimmie Thompson

Jimmie LaVerne Thompson, appointed to the Personnel Commission by the Teamsters, has made a lifelong commitment to fairness and equity as governed by the Merit System. Mrs. Thompson has previously served on the Compton Unified School District Personnel Commission from December 1982 to January 1994, (4 terms) and has acquired exceptional success and experience in this capacity. Among her many accomplishments she has acquired a Masters Degree in Negotiation and Conflict Management, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, minoring in Public Administration with an emphasis on Personnel Management from CSU Dominguez Hills. Additionally, she has served as a Labor Relations Representative with California School Employees Association (CSEA). Currently Mrs. Thompson has her consultancy Quintessential Workplace Techniques (QWT), which specializes in mediating and facilitating contract settlements and conflict resolution in multi-party and internal disputes, as well as administering training for the preparation of the parties in this area. Based upon the principle of building up our school system, as a former student of CUSD, I intend to engage in an atmosphere which creates greatness for our students, staff, administration, and community.
